So here’s the story- If you have lived in Chicago for over 20 years or 20 years ago, you have probably met me. I either served you coffee, sold you expensive chess sets at Marshall Fields, convinced you that the Trellis Rose sheet set from Montgomery Ward was “timeless” or more recently gave you a vaccine. I was the co-owner of Ennui Cafe from 1996-2006. I loved it when I loved it and was relieved to let it go. I grew up in Chicago on the South Side and went to Catholic schools from kindergarten to college graduation. Over the years I have compiled stories, experiences, artist collaborators, and a kaleidoscope of friends, frenemies, and acquaintances. If it happened to be weird- it happened to me. Welcome and try not to avert your eyes because I lied about those sheets. They were fugly and we had hundreds of them.
